Injuries Reported in Lavon Auto Accident on State Highway 78 and Lakepointe Boulevard

LAVON, TX (March 19, 2023) – Thursday morning, six children suffered injuries in a school bus crash on State Highway 78 and Lakepointe Boulevard.

The incident happened at about 6:45 a.m. on State Highway 78 and Lakepointe Boulevard.

According to the Lavon Police Department, the crash involved the Community ISD school bus and another vehicle.

As a result, six children sustained minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital via ambulance.

Then, responders took the driver and the passenger of the SUV to the hospital. Moreover, the driver was listed in critical condition.

Meanwhile, the driver of the school bus is reported to be OK.

Also, the incident shut down State Highway 78 for a little over 2 hours but has since reopened.

Aside from the Lavon Police department, the Lavon Fire Department, Wylie Fire Department, Wylie Police Department, Collin County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety, Community ISD Police Department, and staff from Community ISD also came to the scene.
