Investigators said the crash happened around 5 p.m. when a 2014 Chevy Silverado pickup truck began traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes after it made a turn from DeWolf Avenue.
The wrong-way motorist struck a total of six vehicles as it headed the wrong way. The last car was struck head-on, killing the driver and passenger of that vehicle.
Multiple people were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and the exact cause of this crash is under investigation.
Authorities are investigating whether impairments played a role. Traffic was reportedly backed up along Highway 180, and drivers were advised to avoid the scene.
