Morning Crash on 5 Freeway in Sacramento Sends One to Hospital
SACRAMENTO, CA (April 25, 2019) – One person was hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Sacramento.
The crash happened just before 6:00 a.m. on 5 Freeway at Del Paso Road on-ramp.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a black Ford Focus and a black Ford pickup truck collided. As a result, one occupant was injured and one of the vehicles sustained a front end damage.
Paramedics took the injured patient to UC Davis Medical Center for proper treatment.
Towing services removed the vehicles from the wreckage.
Fire officials blocked the first lane of the freeway while they worked on the rescue and clearing operations.
An ongoing investigation continues to determine the ultimate cause of the accident and liability.
