Richard Coyston Killed in Highway 1 Traffic Collision [Marin County, CA]

Marin County, CA (April 4, 2023) – On Saturday, Richard Coyston, 60, of Forestville, lost his life, while Daniel Orozco, 24, of Santa Rosa, and Barabara Boucke, 83, of Stinson Beach, sustained injuries in a Highway 1 traffic collision.

A northbound Subaru driven by Boucke turned left and crossed into the path of a southbound 2009 Yamaha FZ1 motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, Coyston, crashed into the passenger’s side of the Subaru. He was ejected from his motorcycle and suffered multiple traumatic injuries.

Responding officers located Coyston unconscious and without a pulse and attempted to save him. However, the authorities later declared him dead at the scene.

Boucke complained of chest pain and was rushed in an ambulance to Marin General Hospital.

Moreover, Orozco, who was riding in the same group as Coyston, struck debris from the collision and also crashed. Orozco sustained major injuries, including a broken collarbone. The rescuers airlifted him to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.

The authorities are still investigating the fatal collision near Fairfax-Bolinas Road.
