Peter Sullivan Detained Following Police Pursuit Accident on Redwood Drive Near Golf Course Drive West
ROHNERT PARK, CA (March 29, 2019) – An officer suffered minor injuries following a police chase crash Wednesday along Redwood Drive near Golf Course Drive West.
According to authorities, a Rohnert Park man fled after an officer attempted to pull him over on Roberts Lake Road. Per reports, the officer tried pulling Peter Sullivan over after he had been traveling 65 mph in a 35-mph zone.
During the chase, the 38-year-old man nearly collided with another police cruiser making an unrelated traffic stop. Subsequently, Sullivan entered a Home Depot parking lot along Redwood Drive and collided with a patrol cruiser as he attempted to navigate through a handicap parking space. His gray Toyota broke down at this point, police said.
Not long after, officers arrested Sullivan on suspicion of evading police, drug possession and reckless driving.
In the wake of the mayhem, an officer suffered minor injuries, yet sought medical treatment before being released.
Evading police can lead to trouble. If an officer is making a traffic stop, it is wise to comply with law enforcement instead of leading them on a chase. When traveling at high speeds and recklessly, accidents can occur and result in injuries and at times, fatalities.
