Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Navajo Road in Apple Valley

APPLE VALLEY, CA (November 11, 2019)—A pedestrian accident turned deadly Saturday night on Navajo Road near Powhatan Road.

Around 11:47 p.m., deputies with the Apple Valley sheriff’s station arrived to find a pedestrian with serious injuries. In addition, cans and bottles littered the area around the victim.

According to a preliminary investigation, the driver of a minivan struck the pedestrian—a man reportedly crossing from the east side. The minivan driver—heading northbound on Navajo Road prior to the impact—stayed at the scene and rendered life-saving efforts until firefighters arrived.

However, despite these attempts, the pedestrian died at the scene. Reports described him as a known transient in the area.

Authorities did not issue any citations, and impairment is not a suspected factor in the crash.
