1 Dead in Apple Valley Auto Accident on Highway 18 and Milpas Drive

APPLE VALLEY, CA (May 26, 2024) – Saturday morning, a woman died in a devastating 2-vehicle crash on Highway 18 and Milpas Drive.

The incident involving a white Dodge Ram 1500 and a silver 2015 Toyota Rav4 happened at around 6:57 a.m. on Highway 18 and Milpas Drive.

Firefighters from the Apple Valley Fire Protection District came to the scene and they located the overturned pickup truck on the dirt shoulder and the SUV several hundred feet away.

Battalion Chief Matt Downland confirmed that emergency personnel found the vehicles with major damage and four patients. However, one of the patients was declared dead.

Firefighters called for a helicopter to land in a dirt field on the northwest corner of SR-18. A Mercy Air crew arrived and airlifted the male occupant of the Toyota to Antelope Valley Hospital due to major injuries.

The two occupants of the pickup truck sustained minor injuries but declined transportation to the hospital.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
