1 Pedestrian Fatality on San Fernando Road Metrolink Train Accident

 
Los Angeles, CA (April 8, 2020) – Late Tuesday morning, an unidentified pedestrian was killed in a Metrolink Train Accident on San Fernando Road.
 
Officers first received reports around 10:45 a.m., on April 7. First responders arrived in the 9800 block of San Fernando Road, shortly after.
 
Investigators say the Metrolink AV line train No. 212 was en route to Los Angeles when it hit the pedestrian. However, it is currently unclear why the pedestrian was standing on the tracks at the time.
 
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased victim, pending family notification.
 
The surrounding area on San Fernando Road was closed down for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the area has since reopened.
 
Due to the accident, buses were sent shortly after to the area to pick up rail passengers.
 
At this time, an investigation to determine further information remains ongoing. Once available, more details will be released.
