Pedestrian Killed after Struck by Car on Florin Road near 65th Street [SOUTH SACRAMENTO, CA]

Deadly Pedestrian Crash on Florin Road in South Sacramento

 
SOUTH SACRAMENTO, CA (December 9, 2019) – A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a car early Monday morning in South Sacramento.
 
The crash happened just before 5:00 a.m. on Florin Road east of 65th Street.
 
CHP officials said the pedestrian was crossing Florin Road outside of a marked crosswalk. At the same time, a 2013 GMC traveling west on Florin Road at about 35 to 40 mph.
 
For unknown reasons, the pedestrian walked directly in front of the GMC’s path and the driver was unable to avoid hitting the victim.
 
As a result, the unidentified pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and died at the sce
 
The driver of the GMC, a 58-year-old Sacramento woman, stayed and cooperated with authorities.
 
Investigators said drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.
