Man Hurt after Bakersfield Hit-and-Run Crash on Chester Avenue

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 20, 2019) — A hit-and-run crash on Chester Avenue in south Bakersfield critically injured a man on Wednesday, June 19.
 
Officers rushed at the intersection of South Chester Avenue and La France Drive after a call of a hit-and-run accident.
 
Witnesses told police that a man was crossing the street inside an unmarked crosswalk then a vehicle struck him.
 
Paramedics transported the pedestrian to the hospital with major injuries. BPD stated he was in critical condition.
 
The driver of the vehicle left the area before officers arrived. They have been unable to find the driver.
 
Investigators believe that the car is a 2016 or 2017 Honda Civic. The color is unknown.
