Driver Arrested in Nevada County Deadly Crash
Nevada County, CA (April 22, 2024) – 23-year-old Kasey Patrick of Nevada County was killed in a Highway 49 DUI crash early Sunday morning.
It was approximately 2 a.m. when the fatal vehicle crash happened near Oak Drive, south of Grass Valley.
CHP officers said 23-year-old Isabella Christmon, also of Nevada County resident, was driving a 2016 Volkswagen Passat on Highway 49. She was traveling north when she approached a right curve in the roadway. As Christmon drove through the curve, she allowed the vehicle to swerve off the right side of the highway.
The vehicle drove down the steep hillside striking several oak trees and later ended up on its right side, approximately 45 feet from the highway,
Unfortunately, Kasey Patrick died at the crash scene while Christmon suffered major injuries. She was taken to an area hospital for treatment and was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol which led to the death of her passenger.
