Fatal Three-Vehicle Collision on Highway 191 in Butte Valley
BUTTE VALLEY, CA (July 11, 2019) – One person was killed following a three-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Butte Valley.
The crash happened around 1:50 p.m., on Highway 191, also known as Clark Road. First responders arrived at Circle J Road, just North of the Butte College main campus.
According to the CHP, a 2017 white Kenworth tree service truck, a blue 1993 Ford Ranger and a 2016 Ford F-150 were involved.
The tree service truck collided head-on with the Ford Ranger. As a result of the impact, the Ranger spun out of control, hitting the Ford F-150.
Arriving units pronounced the driver of the Ranger dead at the scene. At this time, authorities listed him as John Doe, considering they have not positively identified him.
The driver of the tree service truck, a 65-year-old Los Angeles man, sustained minor injures and was sent to Enloe Medical Center.
Highway 191 was closed in both directions while the investigation was being conducted. The highway was reopened by 4:15 p.m.
