Chevrolet Driver Dies, Nicole Bowers Injured in Highway 16 Multi-Vehicle Crash

Amador County, CA (November 11, 2021)– On Saturday, 35 year-old Nicole Bowers and her husband, 40 year-old Daniel Bowers, both from Sutter Creek, suffered injuries in a fatal crash on Highway 16.

Officers received the crash report at approximately 4:26 p.m.west of Latrobe Road, within unincorporated Amador County.

When the authorities arrived at the crash scene, they discovered that three vehicles were involved in the incident.

Moreover, investigating officers said a 25 year-old Sacramento woman in a 2006 Chevrolet Impala was westbound on the highway. She was approaching an eastbound 2019 GMC Yukon driven by Nicole, followed by her husband, Daniel, driving a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado.

Suddenly, the 25 year-old Chevrolet Impala driver traveled to the right off of the paved roadway, and drove to the gravel shoulder.

Then, the 25 year-old Chevrolet Impala driver tried to re-enter the paved portion of the roadway.

As a result, her vehicle veered out of control towards the eastbound traffic lane.

Fatal Rollover Crash

The Chevrolet Impala’s front crashed with the GMC Yukon’s  left side.

Then, the GMC Yukon veered off the south roadway’s edge and rolled several times, before it rested on its wheels.

Furthermore, the Chevrolet Impala continued traveling into the eastbound traffic lane, and its rear crashed with the Chevrolet Silverado’s front.

Both the Chevrolet Impala and Chevrolet Silverado veered off the roadway, and onto the south shoulder.

Officers said all involved vehicles sustained major damage.

The 25 year-old female Chevrolet Impala driver sustained severe injuries and died at the scene.

Meanwhile the medical team evaluated Nicole, her husband Daniel, and their children, minor injuries and were released from the crash scene.

Officers do not suspect alcohol and drugs in any of the three involved drivers.
