4 Vehicles Involved in Deadly Crash on Highway 69 at Walker Road

 
PRESCOTT, AZ (January 5, 2020) – A man died following a multi-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon on Highway 69 in Prescott.
 
The crash happened around 1:00 p.m. near the intersection of Walker Road.
 
According to the Prescott Police Department, a vehicle driven by 55-year-old Nathan Souders of Chino Valley was traveling west on the highway when he crossed left of center, causing his vehicle to strike the left rear corner of an eastbound vehicle.
 
Continuing to veer left, Souder’s vehicle then struck the right front and side of another eastbound vehicle. It then collided head on with a fourth vehicle in the eastbound lanes.
 
As a result, Souders suffered critical injuries and died at the hospital.
 
Several others were treated for minor injuries.
 
The highway was closed in both directions for several hours while officers conducted their investigation.
 
Police said impairment does not appear to be a factor. Witnesses of the crash are asked to contact Lead Police Officer Mark Parker at 928-777-1988.
