Mikayla Agee-Mathewson Killed, Mark Layman Injured in Oakdale Semi-Truck Crash
Oakdale, CA (October 26, 2020) – On Sunday, Mikayla Agee-Mathewson died, while Mark Layman, 57, of Demorest, GA, was injured in a big rig crash on Highway 108.
The deadly semi truck accident happened at about 6:15 p.m. east of Mondo Lane in Oakdale.
For unidentified reasons, the female driver of the 2015 Chevrolet Impala veered off the road and lost control of her vehicle.
At the same time, Layman was driving a 2014 Freightliner truck approaching westbound.
The female driver slid sideways across the highway, into the westbound lane of traffic and the path of the Freightliner.
As a result, the front of the truck hit the passenger side of the Impala.
Immediately, the rescuers extricated the female driver who was pinned inside her vehicle. The authorities pronounce her dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, Layman and his passenger, 63-year-old Allyson Layman of Demorest, complained of pain from the incident.
Further, there was no available identifying information on the Impala female driver from the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office.
The preliminary investigation did not determine if drugs or alcohol factored in the fatal crash.
