Walter Lopez Martinez Dead in Otay Mesa Crash Involving Big Rig

 
OTAY MESA, CA (December 7, 2021) – Early Monday, Walter Lopez Martinez, 27, died in a motorcycle accident in Siempre Viva Road near Customhouse Plaza.
 
The fatal accident happened at about 6:40 a.m. on Siempre Viva Road near Customhouse Plaza, just north of the U.S.-Mexico border.
 
According to reports, the motorcyclist ran his bike into the side of a semi-truck as it made a U-turn.

As a result, the rider suffered injuries and paramedics transported him to the hospital where he died. Meanwhile, the 53-year-old semi-truck driver suffered no injuries in the crash.

Paramedics took Walter Lopez Martinez to Scripps Mercy Hospital, where he died shortly after.
 
Furthermore, the San Diego police shut down lanes in the area during the investigation.
