Bakersfield, CA (February 26, 2021) – On Wednesday, a man died in a tragic hit-and-run crash on Chester Avenue.
 
The deadly crash happened at about 8:30 p.m. south of West Columbus Street.
 
Apparently, two cars were at the stoplight. When the light turned green, the two vehicles accelerated and the pedestrian crossing Chester Avenue outside the crosswalk was hit by one of the two vehicles.
 
Immediately, rescuers rushed him to a hospital but he died on the way.
 
Both of the cars left the scene and could not be located.
