Motorcyclist Dies After Crashing in Riverside
RIVERSIDE, CA (May 6, 2019) – A man lost his life Saturday following a motorcycle accident on the 60 Freeway near Watkins Drive.
According to the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department, the incident happened near the Central Avenue and Watkins Drive exit.
A motorcyclist, whose age and name are unavailable at this time, crashed into the center divider under unknown circumstances.
According to California Highway Patrol, the impact combined with the speed of 60 mph flung the motorcyclist off his bike.
Paramedics immediately arrived and transported him to a nearby hospital where he died.
Shortly after the accident, crews issued a SigAlert at 4:43 p.m., shutting down the carpool and No. 1 lanes.
Authorities are left determining the ultimate cause that led the motorcyclist to lose control.
