7 People Injured in Lynnwood Suspected DUI Collision
LYNNWOOD, WA (February 28, 2019) – Seven people were hospitalized Sunday following an alleged DUI multi-car accident on the 5 Freeway near 164th Street Southwest.
The multi-car accident happened when a 23-year-old Lake Stevens woman struck a snow plow vehicle in the northbound lane before veering into the southbound carpool lane and colliding with another car. Another vehicle was involved after it struck the debris from the crash.
Following the wreck, seven people were brought to nearby hospitals, including Harborview Medical Center, Providence and possibly Swedish Edmonds, and the driver of the snowplow was evaluated at the scene. The 23-year-old driver was taken into custody after authorities learned that she was impaired.
All lanes were reopened before 9:30 a.m.
If you or a friend is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, do not operate a motor vehicle. Negligent car accidents unfold when you drive under the influence. It is much safer to contact a Rideshare or a sober family member or friend to bring you home. Driving while impaired increases the dangers of car accidents.
