Lonnie Sullivan of Clearlake Oaks Dies in DUI Crash on Nice-Lucerne Cutoff [Lake County, CA]

Lake County, CA (September 26, 2021) – On Wednesday, 64-year-old Lonnie Ray Sullivan of Clearlake Oaks dies, while officers arrested 35-year-old Steven Michael Pruitt of Lakeport, in a DUI crash on Nice-Lucerne Cutoff.

The fatal crash took place minutes before 7:30 a.m. near the Rodman Slough.

Investigating officers said Sullivan was eastbound on a 1996 Honda Civic west of the Rodman Slough when he was struck head-on by a 2016 Chevy Camaro driven by Pruitt.

Officers said Pruitt crossed over the double yellow lines.

Unfortunately, Sullivan died at the accident scene.

Both Sullivan and Pruitt were wearing their seat belts at the time of the fatal accident.

The officers arrested Pruitt for driving under the influence of drugs and vehicular manslaughter. They booked him into the Lake County Jail after he was medically cleared.

Moreover, jail records show that Pruitt is still in custody, with bail set at $1 million.
