Driver Arrested in Suspected DUI Accident on I-5 near SeaTac

SeaTac, WA (March 17, 2023) – On Thursday morning, a solo-car crash on Interstate 5 led to the death of a passenger and injuries to its driver.

WSP says that the fatal DUI accident happened at about 4 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-5, near SeaTac. Reports say that a high-speeding car crashed and rolled over, ejecting its passenger, and causing fatal injuries to the person.

Puget Sound Fire crews responded to the scene and found a vehicle with considerable damage.

Officials pronounced the ejected person dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the injured driver is transported to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say that they have arrested the driver at the hospital on suspicion of vehicular homicide. Investigations reveal that intoxication may have played a factor in the solo-car crash.
