Kevin Aleman Dies in Fiery Wreck on 5 Freeway Near Smokey Bear Road
LEBEC, CA (January 23, 2019) – A 25-year-old Inglewood man lost his life Saturday following a fiery wreck with a big rig on the 5 Freeway near Smokey Bear Road.
Authorities determined that Kevin Aleman was possibly speeding around 6:30 a.m. before his Honda sedan rear-ended a semi-truck on the northbound 5 Freeway. The impact caused the Honda to catch on fire, killing the 25-year-old.
California Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene, and all northbound lanes were blocked for several hours as traffic was diverted off the right shoulder.
