1 Dead in Stanislaus County Auto Accident on Interstate 5 and Davis Road

STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (July 26, 2023) – Tuesday, a tragic head-on crash on Interstate 5 and Davis Road involved Jose Rivaspineda.

The incident happened shortly after noon on northbound Interstate 5, just south of Davis Road, between Stuhr Road and Fink Road.

According to California Highway Patrol reports, the head-on crash involved a big rig and another vehicle.

Also, officers confirmed that the crash led to the death of a 26-year-old Arizona man.

Reports said that as a Subaru SUV traveled south on Interstate 5, the driver let the vehicle enter the center median.

As a result, the Subaru overturned and went into the northbound traffic where it crashed with a Peterbilt tractor-trailer rig.

The impact left the Arizona man, who was driving the Subaru, with fatal injuries, and was declared dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, 50-year-old Rivaspineda of Los Banos, the Peterbilt truck driver, sustained minor injuries. Responders took him to Los Banos Memorial Hospital.

Also, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed due to pending family notification.

Moreover, CHP confirmed that alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.

Also, the crash shut down one lane of northbound Interstate 5 until around 3:00 p.m. as crews worked at the scene.

Furthermore, the West Stanislaus Fire Protection District, Patterson Fire, CAL Fire Santa Clara units, and Patterson District Ambulance as well as Caltrans personnel all came to the scene.
