49-Year-Old Javier Dominguez Hospitalized in 101 Freeway Pedestrian Accident [Oxnard, CA]

Oxnard, CA (May 7, 2023) – On Thursday, 49-year-old Javier Dominguez sustained injuries following a 101 Freeway pedestrian accident.

The traffic accident happened at about 3:13 p.m. south of Rose Avenue.

Officers said they received reports about a man running on the freeway. 

When they arrived, the authorities saw Dominguez running across the northbound lanes of traffic toward the southbound lanes.

Dominguez climbed the concrete divider wall and ran into a southbound lane where he was hit by a Chevrolet 3500 utility truck driven by a 63-year-old Camarillo man.

Dominguez sustained major injuries and was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center.

Officers said the truck driver did not sustain injuries from the collision and was determined to be sober. 

In the meantime, the authorities are investigating Dominguez’s motive for running on the freeway.
