Jacob Patrick Rose Surrenders to Authorities after Hit-and-Run Accident on Kitsap Way [Bremerton, WA]

1 Arrested and 2 Injured after Bremerton Multi-Vehicle Accident

 
BREMERTON, WA (March 26, 2020) – A 29-year-old man surrendered to authorities following a hit-and-run accident on Kitsap Way on March 23.
 
According to reports, the hit-and-run left two people with injuries. The authorities arrested Jacob Patrick Rose of Bremerton after he fled the scene, who was also discovered to be under the influence of marijuana at the time of the crash.
 
When Rose returned to the crash scene at 4:21 p.m., the Bremerton police officer evaluated him for showing signs of being under the influence. The Kitsap County Superior Court then charged him on Tuesday with two counts of vehicular assault and two counts of hit-and-run injury.
 
According to some witnesses, Rose drove a white box truck with California license plates. Later, Rose struck a car that had stopped for traffic. The impact then forced the said car into another two cars. This is when Jacob Patrick Rose escaped the crash scene.
 
Meanwhile, Rose told the officers that he “kind of went into autopilot” after the collision and went home. He also said that if ever he undergoes blood tests, results would reveal that he had THC in his system. Some documents also confirmed that he had a medical marijuana card.
 
As a result of the crash, a person sustained internal injuries that require surgery. Meanwhile, another person suffered a concussion and whiplash.
 
The incident also led to the closure of Kitsap Way near the 3800 block while medics and officers worked on the scene.
