Driver Hospitalized Following Major-Injury Collision With Big Rig
HESPERIA, CA (February 28, 2019) – An unidentified woman was seriously injured Wednesday morning, in a semi-truck accident on Bear Valley Road.
The 20-year-old woman was driving a 2004 Ford Mustang around 12:25 a.m. Hesperia Sheriff’s Service Specialist Edgar Moran said she tried making a left-hand turn from the Walgreens parking lot to enter the westbound lanes of Bear Valley Road. However, in an attempt to do this, her vehicle pulled out in front of an eastbound Robertson’s transport cement truck, driven by a 45-year-old man.
The diesel truck collided with the Mustang in the No. 3 lane of Bear Valley Road. As a result, both vehicles crashed into the center divider, partially blocking the westbound side.
The Ford driver suffered major injuries and was airlifted to a trauma center.
Authorities are investigating the ultimate cause and are asking anyone with information to call authorities.
