Gilberto Gallegos Jr Involved in Deadly Crash on Highway 58 [Bakersfield, CA]

1 Dead in Bakersfield Auto Accident on Highway 58 near Oswell Street

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 28, 2022) – Early Sunday, a deadly crash on Highway 8 involved Gilberto Gallegos Jr.
 
The incident happened at about 2:15 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Highway 58, west of the Oswell Street exit.
 
Reports said that a 50-year-old woman and a 58-year-old man were stopped along the right shoulder of Highway 58 sitting in a disabled Ford Thunderbird. Then, a westbound Chevrolet Silverado veered to the right and crashed into the rear of the disabled Thunderbird.
 
As a result, the Silverado overturned and landed on the dirt shoulder. Meanwhile, the Thunderbird driver succumbed to injuries at the scene. Meanwhile, the 58-year-old man suffered no injuries.
 
At this time, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identity of the deceased due to pending family notification.
 
At this time, alcohol or drugs appeared to be a factor in a crash. Thus, authorities arrested Gilberto L. Gallegos Jr., 31, of Bakersfield. He sustained minor injuries and was taken to Kern Medical for treatment.
