Geno Gurich of Copperopolis Dies in DUI Crash on Highway 120 [Jamestown, CA]

Jamestown, CA (February 26, 2022) – On Sunday, 32-year-old Geno Gurich of Copperopolis, 41-year-old Beverley Jenkins, and two others, sustained injuries in a DUI crash on Highway 120.

It was about 6:45 p.m. when the collision happened east of Perri Cone Road.

According to the investigators, Gurich was driving an eastbound 2004 Honda Civic  at a curve and crossed over the double-yellow lines into oncoming traffic at a high rate of speed. 

At the same time on the opposite direction, a 2021 Mazda CX-5 was driven by a 34-year-old Charmin Rogers with Jenkins and three children: a 9-year-old boy, and an 11 and 12-year-old girls. All of them from Oakland.

Right away, the paramedics rushed Gurich to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto where he died on Tuesday.

Similarly, the paramedics also rushed Jenkins and two of the children to a local hospital.  Reports said that the 12-year-old girl was later airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. 

Moreover, the authorities suspect alcohol as a factor to this fatal crash.
