Unidentified Person Killed in Tehachapi Accident on Tehachapi Boulevard

TEHACHAPI, CA (May 22, 2020) – Tuesday evening, an unidentified person died in a crash on Tehachapi Boulevard.
 
According to the Tehachapi Police Department, at around 7:25 p.m., the officers responded after receiving reports of a fatal pedestrian crash. The incident took place on Tehachapi Boulevard and Highway 58 eastbound onramp intersection.

After the authorities conducted their initial investigation, they determined that a driver heading west on East Tehachapi Boulevard didn’t stop to the red light.

As a result, the vehicle struck the pedestrian heading northbound across East Tehachapi Boulevard.
 
Furthermore, the officers revealed that the pedestrian used a marked crosswalk.
 
An ambulance transported the pedestrian to Adventist Health Tehachapi. Unfortunately, the victim died at the hospital. At this time, the authorities didn’t disclose the identity of the deceased due to pending family notification.
 
Meanwhile, the driver stayed at the scene and has been cooperative with the investigations.
 
The police also noted that the driver didn’t exhibit signs of intoxication.
