SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA (September 9, 2019) – A person died in a fiery multi-vehicle crash near Elks Club Drive on September 7.
 
The South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) said that they dispatched crews to a fire in South Lake Tahoe near Elks Club Drive.
 
The cause of the fire is a multi-vehicle crash involving a big rig. The big rig rolled over in the collision and exploded.
 
According to CHP, the big rig carried gas, diesel or both. CHP also confirmed that some spilled into the Truckee River. Hence, HAZMAT crews responded to the scene.
