MCALLEN, TX (January 19, 2023) – On Sunday, authorities arrested Eric Omar Cantunfollowing a fiery DUI crash on E Frontage Road.
 
The incident happened at the 500 block of E Frontage Road.
 
According to reports, a 2021 gray Dodge Challenger crashed for still unknown reasons. Then, it rolled over multiple times and erupted into flames.
 
Moreover, responders located and transported a female occupant of the vehicle to a hospital with serious injuries. Meanwhile, officers managed to locate and arrest the male driver of the vehicle. They confirmed that the suspect hid under a blue truck in a parking lot of Bed, Bath & Beyond.
 
Furthermore, officers booked the suspect, Eric Omar Cantu, for charges of intoxication assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury and accident involving serious bodily injury.
 
Meanwhile, the incident remained under active investigation.
