15-Year-Old Killed in Accident West of Highway 249
Harris County, TX (February 28, 2023) – On Monday morning, Enzo Gray, a 15-year-old boy with special needs sustained fatal injuries following a Spring Cypress Road accident.
The deadly incident unfolded at about 3:45 a.m. west of Highway 249.
According to the authorities, the teen was walking in the Tomball area when a driver who tried to avoid him accidentally struck him.
Unfortunately, Gray succumbed to his injuries at the accident scene.
According to the investigating officers, the teen had wandered from his family’s house which is about a mile away from the crash scene.
HCSO Capt. Anthony McConnell said. “Child was crossing the road from south to north when a vehicle struck the child and the child was pronounced at the scene.”
Moreover, a Toyota Prius was towed away from the scene. Officers said the driver stayed at the scene and didn’t show any signs of intoxication.
In the meantime, police are looking into how Enzo left his house in the middle of the night and how the victim out of his gated community.
“We will continue the investigation as to the speed of the vehicle and anything else, but, at this point in time, it’s just a tragic accident,” McConnell added.
