LONG BEACH, CA (February 6, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, an elderly woman died in a multi-vehicle crash on Spring Street and Palo Verde Avenue.
 
The incident happened just after 2:30 p.m. on Spring Street and Palo Verde Avenue.
 
According to reports, a 90-year-old Long Beach driver headed through a parking lot on Spring Street and Palo Verde. Officers noted that the driver traveled at a high rate of speed. Thus, she struck four parked cars.
 
Then, the impact caused the cars to hit two people — a 68-year-old man and a 10 -year-old boy.
 
Meanwhile, the woman’s car continued across the street until it crashed into a tree.
 
When the authorities arrived at the scene, they found the woman’s car across the street from the parking lot. Also, they noted that the driver was trapped in the wreckage.
 
Firefighters then extricated her from the vehicle and transported her to a local hospital. However, she later succumbed to her injuries.
