El Cajon Officer Hurt Following Hit-and-Run Collision in El Cajon
EL CAJON, CA (December 5, 2018) – An El Cajon Police Officer suffered minor injuries early Tuesday following a hit-and-run collision on the 15 Freeway near Camino Del Rey.
Around 6:30 a.m., an El Cajon Police Officer was on his way to work on the southbound 15 Freeway. A driver of a silver Ford Fusion failed to stop after sideswiping the officer, knocking him off his bike and onto the roadway.
Several drivers who witnessed this crash attempted to chase down the motorist but were unsuccessful. The driver reportedly exited Gopher Canyon Road before hopping back onto the freeway to head southbound again.
The officer suffered minor injuries. Now, officers are in search of a silver 2010 and 2012 Ford Fusion with damage to the left-hand side. The vehicle also bore a blue dealership plate that said “El General” in yellow lettering.
