2 Hospitalized after Chula Vista Car Accident on 805 Freeway

 
CHULA VISTA, CA (October 1, 2019) – Two people sustained injuries in a DUI car accident on 805 Freeway on September 29.
 
The collision at around 6:00 a.m. involving a suspected drunk driver ejected a man from his car and sent the car off the freeway.
 
Reports revealed that a northbound BMW driver on 805 Freeway cut in front of a Toyota sedan occupied by the driver and a female passenger.
 
The collision sent the Toyota off the highway south of Telegraph Canyon Road. It then collided with a large freeway sign and then a tree, and started rolling. The impact threw the driver off his car and landed against the freeway fencing. The vehicle continued rolling with the passenger inside until it stopped on Osage Avenue.
 
Meanwhile, the BMW driver also lost control of his car and drove off the freeway. He then hit a freeway sign and a utility pole holding a freeway camera. The vehicle overturned and landed on its roof.
 
Responders transported the male and female Toyota occupants with major injuries to Mercy Hospital for treatment.
 
The BMW driver managed to get out of his vehicle and suffered only minor injuries. However, authorities arrested him after failing a sobriety test.
