Desiree Every in Custody Following Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident at East Baseline Street and Sterling Avenue
HIGHLAND, CA (February 28, 2019) – A hit-and-run vehicle struck a man in a wheelchair and inflicted life-threatening injuries at East Baseline Street and Sterling Avenue on Sunday.
Desiree Shante Every was arrested Tuesday, two days after leaving the scene of the crime. Every reportedly fled the scene around 2:30 a.m. after hitting the victim. She was said to be traveling westbound on Baseline Street when the incident happened.
An investigation of the hit-and-run led detectives to the 37-year-old Perris woman, who holds prior records. She was released from custody after posting bail.
The current condition of the victim was not available.
