1 Person Arrested in Fairfield Traffic Accident on Interstate 80 near Abernathy Road

FAIRFIELD, CA (May 23, 2023) – Monday morning, authorities reported injuries following a crippling wrong-way crash on Interstate 80 near Abernathy Road.

The incident happened at around 1:35 a.m. on Interstate 80 near Abernathy Road.

According to CHP-Solano spokesman Jason Tyhurst, a vehicle traveling in the wrong way for still unknown reasons, sideswiped four other vehicles.

Moreover, authorities confirmed that multiple parties sustained minor injuries in the crash. Also, the collision blocked all westbound lanes of Interstate 80 but has long since reopened.

Furthermore, officers arrested the wrong-way driver on suspicion of DUI.

At this time, the circumstances involved in the crash remained unclear. When additional information became available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
