CHULA VISTA, CA – Fatal Crash on Interstate 5 Involving Chevy Camaro in San Diego

One Killed in Multiple Vehicle Accident on H Street On-Ramp to 5 Freeway

CHULA VISTA, CA (January 1, 2018) – Early morning New Year’s Day, multiple vehicles were involved in a fatal crash on Interstate 5 going north.

Around 5:38 AM, a red Chevy Camaro collided into the center divide near H Street onramp in Chula Vista. Shortly after, two other vehicles crashed into the Chevy, according to California Highway Patrol.

All lanes were blocked and traffic was redirected for about two hours after the crash. Tow trucks came to remove the cars from the highway, and a sweep was ordered as debris was scattered across the lanes.

The authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
