CHP Officer Seriously Injured in Motorcycle Accident on Highway 101 [San Mateo, CA]

1 Hurt in San Mateo Motorcycle Accident

SAN MATEO, CA (March 15, 2019) – A 33-year-old CHP officer sustained serious injuries in a crash between a CHP motorcycle and a car on southbound Highway 101 on March 11.

The crash involved two southbound vehicles in the far right lane in slow traffic on the freeway. The incident occurred south of the Third Avenue interchange at around 10:20 a.m.

According to CHP Kurtis Waldschmidt, the unidentified officer sustained major but not life-threatening injuries. Medical responders transported him to Stanford Medical Center for treatment.

Meanwhile, Waldschmidt added that the 34-year-old Volkswagen Golf driver from San Francisco helped with the detectives and is unharmed.

The authorities are still investigating the collision by Tuesday.
