4 People Dead in Manteca Auto Accident on State Route 120 near Highway 99

MANTECA, CA (April 15, 2024) – On Saturday, a brutal single-vehicle crash on State Route 120 near Highway 99 killed four people.

The incident happened at around 10:07 p.m. on State Route 120, west of Highway 99.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a Toyota minivan lost control for still unknown reasons and struck the center median. Then, the minivan continued to the grass median separating eastbound and westbound State Route 120 and went airborne. Also, the minivan crashed into the overpass on Van Ryn Avenue, rolled over, and erupted into flames.

Moreover, reports revealed that 15-to-20 people assisted in pushing the vehicle onto its wheels and attempted to save the seven occupants of the vehicle. Authorities confirmed that an infant, a child, and two adults died in the incident. Then, paramedics transported a 14-year-old girl, a 9-year-old boy, and a 7-year-old girl to area hospitals with unknown injuries.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
