1 Dead in San Jose Pedestrian Accident on 500 Saratoga Avenue

SAN JOSE, CA (April 1, 2024) – Sunday night, a brutal pedestrian crash on 500 Saratoga Avenue killed 1 person.

The incident occurred at about 7:39 p.m. on the 500 block of Saratoga Avenue where the vehicle hit a pedestrian.

Reports said that the pedestrian sustained major injuries before he succumbed to injuries at the scene.

Officers revealed that the he crash occurred on the same street as The Harker School, a coed private K-12 school.

Saratoga Avenue was shut down in both directions between Kiely Boulevard and Moorpark Avenue.

As of 10 p.m., the southbound lanes have reopened, but the northbound lanes will remain closed for “several hours” as the San Jose Police Department (SJPD) conducts its investigation into the crash.

The victim has not been identified by authorities, and SJPD has not disclosed any information about the driver of the vehicle involved.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
