Ashley Halas of Oak Hills Killed in Head-On Collision on Phelan Road [Phelan, CA]

Phelan, CA (April 22, 2024) – 38-year-old Ashley Halas of Oak Hills and a Subaru driver were killed in a head-on collision on Phelan Road Sunday evening.

Investigating officers said Halas was driving an eastbound white GMC Yukon with a passenger on Phelan Rd. She lost control of the vehicle and drove into the westbound lane into the path of a blue Subaru Forester.

The authorities arrived at the scene and declared the Subaru driver deceased while Halas died at a local hospital a short time later. 

The passenger in the Yukon sustained major injuries and was airlifted by Mercy Air 22 to Antelope Valley Medical Center.
