73-Year-Old Bicyclist Dies, Amber Bruhn Arrested on Lakeshore Boulevard Hit-and-Run Crash
Lakeport, CA (December 3, 2020) – On Wednesday, police arrested 33-year-old Amber Bruhn of Nice after a hit-and-run crash that killed a 73-year-old Lakeport man on Lakeshore Boulevard.
The fatal crash happened just before 2 p.m. north of Hill Road East in North Lakeport.
The bicyclist was traveling southbound on Lakeshore Boulevard, within the southbound lane.
When at the same time, Bruhn was driving a white 2005 Kia Sorrento, also traveling southbound on Lakeshore Boulevard, approaching the victim’s location.
Bruhn crashed with the bicyclist. The victim was thrown over Bruhn’s vehicle and onto the roadway.
CHP said they received the crash report at approximately 1:54 p.m. wherein medical rescuers immediately responded.
Rescuers provided life-saving efforts to the victim. However, but he still succumbed to his crash injuries from the collision.
Police withheld the deceased’s identity pending notification of family.
CHP said the victim was using his safety equipment at the time of the accident.
Meanwhile, Bruhn fled the crash scene and left the vehicle at a nearby hotel.
Moreover, officers located Bruhn hours after the crash. They determined that she was the Kia’s driver at the time of the collision.
Furthermore, authorities continue to investigate the incident.
Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the crash.
