1 Person Hurt in Oxnard Auto Accident on Pacific Coast Highway near Naumann Road

OXNARD, CA (December 19, 2023) – Saturday night, an alarming DUI crash on Pacific Coast Highway near Naumann Road injured one person.

The incident happened at around 8:30 p.m. on Pacific Coast Highway near Naumann Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a northbound Mercedes traveling in the southbound lane and collided with a Ventura County Sheriff’s Department’s vehicle. Then, the force of the crash pushed the sheriff’s SUV off the roadway and onto an oceanside embankment.

Moreover, responders transported the Ventura County Sheriff’s deputy to a hospital with minor injuries. Also, authorities confirmed that the deputy’s K-9 Danny sustained a cut to their face and was given treatment.

Furthermore, Sheriff’s Capt. James Sullivan said that the driver of the Mercedes was arrested and booked into Ventura County jail on suspicion of DUI.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
