San Francisco Woman Struck and Injured on Third Street, Eli Deleston Arrested
San Francisco, CA (December 22, 2020) – On Sunday, a 92-year-old woman was injured, while police arrested 58-year-old Eli Deleston of San Francisco in a pedestrian accident on Third Street.
At around 4:19 a.m. a San Francisco Fire Department ambulance spotted a woman in the middle of the intersection with Evans Avenue.
Immediately, the medics took her to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
Apparently, the driver who struck her immediately fled the scene, making this incident a hit and run.
Later on, the police successfully contacted Deleston and detained him.
He told the authorities that as he drove through the intersection, he thought he saw trash in one of the traffic lanes which he avoided.
Police said struck what he thought was trash. Then, he continued driving and returned to the intersection to ensure only struck an object.
Moreover, Deleston cooperated with the investigation. Authorities arrested him on suspicion of a felony hit and run. Similarly, they booked him into the San Francisco County Jail.
Furthermore, authorities said anyone with information can anonymously contact the tip line by phone at 415-575-4444 or by text at TIP411, beginning the text message with “SFPD.”
Always focus on the road whenever driving.
