SAN MARCOS, CA (January 20, 2020) – Early Friday morning, an 81-year-old woman died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Descanso Avenue.
 
On January 17, authorities received reports of a pedestrian down in the road on Descanso Avenue just west of South Rancho Santa Fe Road around 2:00 a.m.
 
According to investigators, a black vehicle traveling east on Descanso Avenue hit the pedestrian near South Rancho Santa Fe Road.
 
The 81-year-old woman died at the scene as a result of the impact. Her identity remains unreleased due to pending family notification.
 
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the collision to contact Deputy Michael Guerrero at 760-510-5048. No further information has been released.
