Child Hurt in Accident near Holey Road, Celia Martinez-Galvez Arrested
BYRON, CA (November 9, 2018) – A 5-year-old boy suffered minor injuries in a DUI crash on Byron Highway, late Friday evening. The name and place of residence of the young victim were not released to the public.
According to reports, the incident happened around 10:30 PM, near Holey Road. The young child was found by first responders, properly strapped in a car seat when the Toyota sedan he was riding in, overturned.
His mother, 24-year-old Celia Martinez-Galvez of Hayward, was believed to be impaired after displaying signs of intoxication. She was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI and child endangerment.
The child sustained minor injuries in the crash, but it is unclear if he was hospitalized. No other information is available at this time, as officials continue to investigate the incident further.
