36-Year-Old Jorge Vera Dies in 6th Street Collision [Corona, CA]

Corona, CA (January 23, 2024) – Two Riverside Transit Agency bus passengers were injured and 36-year-old Jorge Vera was killed in a 6th Street collision Friday afternoon.

It was about 1 p.m. on January 19 when the fatal rear-end crash unfolded at the intersection with Grand Boulevard.

Investigators said Vera was driving an eastbound Kia sedan on 6th street at a high rate of speed when his vehicle rear-ended the bus that was stopped at the Grand Boulevard intersection.

Vera was the only occupant of his vehicle. The authorities declared him dead at the scene.

The two passengers incurred minor injuries while the bus driver was not injured.

Officers are investigating if drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.
