Afternoon Head-On Crash on Highway 395 in Walker, 3 Fatalities Reported
WALKER, CA (June 30, 2019) – Three people died following a head-on crash Sunday afternoon in Walker.
The crash happened around 3:36 p.m. on Highway 395 near Walker Ball Field, just South of Topaz Lake.
According to the California Highway Patrol, police stated a white pickup truck and a white van became involved for unknown reasons. Multiple Careflight’s dispatched to the scene. One of the responding Careflight’s was from Fallon, Nevada.
A total of six people were injured, four of them suffered critical injuries. Life-saving measures were performed on the victims, but three were pronounced dead. The identities of the three deceased were not immediately available.
The crash closed Highway 395 in both directions and there was no alternate route. Motorist were advised to avoid the area.
Authorities are still working on the incident and urging witnesses to come forward with information.
