Mount Pleasant Multi-Vehicle Accident near Highway 11 and Highway 32
MOUNT PLEASANT, CA (March 2, 2021) – Early Sunday, authorities arrested three drivers after an OWI crash near Highway 11 and Highway 32.
The three-vehicle crash occurred at about 2:45 a.m. near Highway 11 and Highway 32.
The police revealed that a 2011 Ford F250 pick-up truck traveled south in the northbound lanes of Highway 32. Meanwhile, a 2000 GMC Yukon also traveled north on Highway 32 and noticed the truck’s headlights in its lane.
The GMC Yukon driver tried to prevent the crash but failed and the vehicles crashed head-on.
Afterward, a northbound 2013 Chevrolet Equinox on Highway 32 collided with the stalled vehicles. Then, the GMC Yukon caught fire.
The Yukon’s driver left the crash scene before police arrived. Eventually, they found the driver at Ascension Hospital.
Meanwhile, the Ford F250 driver and the driver of the Chevrolet Equinox both showed signs of impairment. Thus, authorities arrested them for operating a motor vehicle while impaired.
Moreover, the Yukon’s driver also exhibited signs of impairment and was also arrested for OWI.
Also, the authorities closed both northbound lanes and one southbound lane on Highway 32. Furthermore, towing services hauled all three vehicles from the scene.
By 5:30 a.m., the authorities cleared the crash scene.
When driving, it’s important to follow the posted speed limit and to yield to other drivers during uncertain driving situations.
We may not always know what other drivers are thinking. However, if we approach situations with care, we’ll have a likelier chance of averting a collision.
